You Don’t Have to Overshare: Personal Branding with Privacy and Power
One of the many qualms I hear about having a personal brand is the fear that it demands an uncomfortable level of vulnerability and openness about every life detail. On the contrary, authenticity in branding is about selective sharing. It requires you to consider what you want to be known for and what genuinely resonates with the audience you want to attract.
Whether it’s your love for travel, your status as a pet parent, or your hobbies, you can curate which aspects of your life contribute to your brand. Establishing and holding firm boundaries is essential for sustaining long-term engagement without the pressure of excessive sharing.
Performance vs. Connection
I believe people often lean into oversharing online because of a deep desire to be understood. They attempt to seek connection from a broader audience in the hopes that they’ll "find their people."
While people certainly seek authentic connections through social media, it's crucial to understand that not everyone will comprehend or resonate with your story. Misunderstandings are inevitable, and not every response will meet your expectations.
For me, building honest, authentic relationships in my personal life is what allows me to build a healthy relationship with creating content. This approach makes my brand less about performance and making a point, and more about genuine expression and community building.
When you think about what you want to share online, always think about your capacity to engage. Prioritize sustainability and consistency over perfection and performance. Not every thought or experience needs exposure online for your business to thrive.
Ready to Build Your Business Beyond the Couch?
Many healers, coaches, and practitioners get stuck because they believe visibility requires emotional burnout or oversharing—and they often stop creating content altogether. This keeps you isolated and limits your impact.
But imagine stepping into the light with a brand that feels safe, sustainable, and entirely your own.
The Visibility Portal is my program designed specifically for healers like you who are ready to build a thriving business beyond the couch without sacrificing your privacy or your sanity. I'm currently accepting new clients for this work.
If you’re ready to gain clarity on your unique message and create a strategy that allows you to be visible without feeling exposed, your portal is waiting.
Enrollment is now open for the Visibility Portal.
